MOTHERS DAY!

I heard last week, that the Priesthood is coming in to relieve us of Primary duties the last hour... so Ive only got Jr Primary this week.... VERY sad, it was going to be such a fun Sunday!

YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO PULL THIS OFF...

(Im still working on it myself)
Im calling all the LADY primary leaders (presidency and teachers) ahead of time (just for JR primary since thats Ill doing that day) and asking them several questions about themselves! Im going to put a card with all their answers in separate brown bags and do a SPOTLIGHT for each mom. Have a child come up and pick a bag. The last, MOST IMPORTANT, question is what is your favorite Primary song? Which of course, we'll sing!

Some of the SPOTLIGHT questions you could ask:

Favorite Color:
Favorite Scripture hero:
Favorite icecream:
Favorite Holiday:
How many children do you have:
Least favorite Food:
Something you love about being a mom:
FAVORITE PRIMARY SONG:

Hope you all have the LOVELIEST Mothers Day!

Mothers Day~

This week we're getting ready to sing in Sacrament for Mothers Day! We're singing two songs,  "Families Can Be Together Forever" and a Mothers day themed song. BUT, I just realized I only left myself ONE Sunday to learn and practice the Mothers Day song!! Ahhhh!

So, I chose: Mother, I Love You
(and Im crossing my fingers its somewhat familiar)
Luckily, I ran into a great blog and found my flip chart!

Im going to have a child come up and raise this heart, (glued to a popsicle stick) every time we sing the word "LOVE"!

....and then these little guys (hearts BELOW) are going to be all around the room, and randomly as we're going through the lines of our song, Im going to have a child grab a heart and tell us something they LOVE about their Mom!

We Thank Thee, Oh God, for a Prophet, Week 1

Another wild card month, and our primary has chosen the great hymn, "We Thank Thee, Oh God, for a Prophet" as our song!!

I borrowed an idea I saw online instead of a flipchart, a clever lady blew up a picture of President Monson at the pulpit onto poster board and cut slits in the middle to move a filmstrip through it with images for each line of the song!

This is my version. I just printed two separate (8.5"x11") images and attached them together.

After getting comfortable with the first verse, we are going to learn the favorite songs of some of our prophets! (AND OF COURSE, SING THEM!!)
